Sumner Crest Winery is a hidden gem along the ridge 30 miles north of Nashville. Pairing Southern hospitality with hand crafted wines, the establishment makes for a splendid weekend of weekday adventure. Upon entering the winery you quickly realize there are several things that set it apart from your usual winery.
Before opening the door, you’ll notice a couple of vintage automobiles including a 1930 Antique Roadster. Enjoy a wine tasting at our Antique Mahogany bar, adorned with Moser and cranberry pieces from the 1800’s. Although the surroundings are elegant, you can feel free to relax and have fun in our tasting room.
Browse the extensive gift shop with unique gift ideas and our gourmet food section. The Chandelier room features Crystal, Dresden, Venetian, Moser, and Wave crest Antiques to be admired. This is an option that can be reserved for groups of 10 or more for private events in Luxury. We offer exquisite service and personal entertainment sure to please the toughest critic. Our Wines have received 19 medals from national and international competitions, as well as respect from wine lovers everywhere.
The winery opened in 1997 with a few wines but the selection has grown to include more than 22 wines. This variation of wines included dry, semi-sweet, dessert and even American Style Port wines. A few years after opening, the winery started having free summer concert events on the lawn. These events have become quite the hit, especially the Annual Grape Stomp Event which is always the last Saturday in August. Customers bring chairs or blanket and can enjoy a picnic and wine while listening to live music. There is also a dance floor to enjoy.
You can locate all of our event dates on Sumner Crest Winery Facebook Page under the event section. In 2016, the winery obtained a deli license and has boxed lunch plates! Boxed lunches are available with homemade pimento cheese, or homemade chicken salad. Enjoy a boxed lunch on our patio with a bottle of wine and make memories that last!
