Description:

Belle Meade Plantation is a 30-acre historic site 6 miles west of Nashville. The centerpiece of the property is the Belle Meade mansion, built in 1853.  Belle Meade Plantation was created as an educational, non-profit organization in 1953.   The historic site consists of the mansion, the stables (where some of America's most famous thoroughbred horses were raised), the winery and six other outbuildings.

The Winery at Belle Meade Plantation is Tennessee’s newest winery and Nashville’s only winery to date! This addition to our guest experience here on the Plantation is a natural fit. For over 200 years, the Harding and Jackson families opened the doors to the mansion for friends and visitors, and the finest food and drink became part of the tradition of Belle Meade.

The mansion and grounds are open for tours daily.   A single admission price admits you to full tour of the mansion, the grounds, the winery. and all of the other buildings.  The entrance to the Plantation, and the ticket office, are located in the gift-shop building off of Leake Avenue (which is just off Harding Pike).  There is ample free parking.

Wines:

Carriage House White: Made from a Tennessee-grown grape, Vidal, Carriage House White surprises you when opening with the aroma of apple pie and citrus.  Once on the tongue, the fruity characteristics continue as this semi-dry full bodied table wine offers a crisp taste of Tennessee.  Serve as other whites with with seafood and cheese or as an aperitif.

Muscadine: A traditional Tennessee wine that would have been found being made here on the Plantation for over a century. Muscadine is a true American grape. Many Muscadine vines still grow wild along the fence rows surrounding the Plantation. This wine is best served chilled on a front porch while rocking ... heaven!

Belle Meade Blackberry: A deep, dark, semi-sweet wine with pronounced berry flavor, this wine is a perfect companion for flavorful cheeses, pork tenderloin or ribs, a full bodied steak or as a reduction for a sauce. Also makes a wonderful dessert wine.

Racing Silk Red: A true American classic! Celebrating Belle Meade's heritage of owning the oldest continuously run Racing Silks in American, this robust semi-sweet wine runs with the best. Considered America's original dessert wine. Concord is loved for its signature deep purple color and classic sweetness. Sip a glass and let the work "race" by!

Blackberry Wine: A traditional Tennessee wine with a pronounced berry flavor that is true to the deep dark native blackberries, this wine is the perfect companion for flavorful cheese, pork tenderloin and wild game. Equally at home in the kitchen, it makes a delicious reduction sauce or dessert topping.

Celebration Riesling: A Champagne style wine that features the luscious aromas of honeysuckle and orange blossom. Made in commemoration of the Harding family's rich winning tradition and generosity, this wine hosts flavor of grapefruit and ripe peach.

Chardonnay: This classic Chardonnay is the perfect dinnertime white with layers of fruit and a wonderful buttery finish. Featuring a lovely floral bouquet that compliments any atmosphere and a soft, creamy quality. Our Chardonnay is the ideal guest at your next gathering.

Iroquois Red Cabernet: A traditional Cabernet Sauvignon, aged in French Oak barrels. Ripe flavors of dark fruit and pepper make it a superb red for the dinner table.

Merlot: A warm, jammy red with the potpourri of cloves and rose petals. Appeals to a wide palate range and is always a party favorite.

Red Muscadine: A traditional Tennessee wine that would have been found being made here on the Plantation for over a century. Muscadine is a true American grape and is being recognized today for its high anti-oxidant qualities. Many Muscadine vines still grow wild along the fence rows surrounding the Plantation. This wine is best served chilled on a front porch while rocking...heaven!
